The Tealmoor's
ABOUT
Born in Gorizia, a border town in northeastern Italy crossed by the green-blue waters of the Isonzo River, The Tealmoor’s are an alternative rock duo formed by Matteo Tommasi and Stefano Semprini.
The name reflects the colors and atmospheres of their homeland, which continues to deeply inspire their music and lyrics.
Matteo and Stefano met in school and quickly bonded over a shared passion for music.
Stefano followed a classical path that led him to graduate as a violinist from the conservatory, while Matteo gravitated toward the electric guitar and songwriting. They spent their afternoons playing covers of Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Bob Dylan — a formative experience that cemented a deep creative connection.
After school, their paths diverged. Stefano moved to Rome, where he began teaching music and released four solo albums — two classical and two rock. Matteo relocated to Mexico City, where he continued to study, write, and explore music.
Meanwhile, during his periodic returns to Gorizia, Matteo founded The Tealmoor’s with a group of local musicians. The project was born from songs written remotely and performed live during his stays in the city. His reunion with Stefano reignited the creative spark: a handful of shared demos and lyrics marked the beginning of a new phase in the project, leading to Stefano’s official entry into the band.
The first album, Creation Road (2022), is the result of this renewed collaboration — a collection of songs retrieved from the past and new ideas shaped by their dialogue. After the release, Matteo (vocals, acoustic and electric guitars) and Stefano (vocals, electric guitars, bass, strings) chose to continue as a duo, moving toward a freer and more personal direction.
Their sound arises from a balance of shared roots — The Beatles, Oasis, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd — and individual influences that enrich the band’s identity: on one side, the visceral rock of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and the urgency of Rage Against The Machine (Stefano); on the other, the explosive presence of The Who, the songwriting of Bob Dylan, the British imprint of The Kinks, and the energy of Beady Eye (Matteo).
The result is a sound language that combines melodic instinct, narrative tension, and emotional depth. Lyrically, echoes of Dylan, Lennon, Gallagher, and Townes Van Zandt emerge, shaped by Matteo’s passion for storytelling and a life marked by
distance, memory, and return.
In 2024, they began working with Engine Records (Milan), under the production of Valerio Rizzotti, on a new repertoire that reflects a natural evolution in their artistic journey.
The Tealmoor’s songs explore inner journeys, crossroads, disappearances, and homecomings. Their lyrics, rich in symbolic imagery — distant lights, sunrises, forgotten roads — move between the intimate and the universal. Gorizia and the Isonzo River remain constant presences: real places that transform into metaphors of origin, change, and rebirth.
With a new chapter ahead, The Tealmoor’s continue to build a distinctive musical universe, where
memory, melody, and meaning intertwine in a voice that is uniquely their own.
